| If anyone has seen me in person, they have probally seen the AK-74 That I have been upgrading. So far I have a CYMA-047D DB 6.01 TB 469 mm CYMA Metal hopup CYMA rail Tactical 2x Red Dot Bipod Silencer I'm about to put in Mad Bull Fishbone bucking and rubber http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_170&products_id=1956This stuff is supposed to madly increase accuracy and bump FPS a little. What I'm looking to do in the future... Custom pain job Upgrade gears and spring Disable Auto, thus making this a complete DMR, the only AK-47/74 DMR I know of too!! I will put some pics up of what I have now and as I go along upgrading my gun. I'm doing this to entertain myself a little bit, I'm hoping you guys will benefit from this somehow. If you guys ever have any questions about Ak's or Russian gear, hit me or Boss/Panther up, we know a good deal. If all else fails CharleyNovember is the expert of about everything Airsoft!!!

| Where did you manage to find a DB customs in that length? Either you've had it for a few months or found someone with them still sitting around. The company more or less shut down a bit back so now all that stores have is the last of the stock. The guy from airsoftgi said he could see them coming back but wouldn't hold his breath. :-/ Certainly my favorite barrels so I was a little sad to hear this confirmed even though I had already thought worse.
That Madbull fishbone is really hit or miss. The hop nub is nice though since it has that "H" shape. Some guns it works wonders, others it sucks. If you have the choice, get the pack with the two types rather than the two of the same material. Even Madbull knows the rubber is hit or miss. It's why they give you two options to try. :-) If all else fails, keep the "H nub" and use a different rubber.
If you get it and find that it does not perform up to your expectations, give a Guarder 50% a try. They are a bit soft but perform well in all my guns in the 370-400 range. If you are going higher you may want to try the 70% but really, even in my old 500 FPS DMR, the 50% seemed to work a little better. The hard was just too... hard. The 50% will wear down faster under such FPS but for the time it works you will be happy. Go to Ehobbyasia.com and get a few of them. They only cost $3.99 there. If you really want to go all out, get the hard type firefly. It will work well until it wears down. The problem with this is that since it has two fingers, one will always wear faster. When you start to have bb's always curve one way or another you know it's shot. At $20 + each though, it's a bit pricey. Better choice for a bolt action's ROF then a DMR. If you've got the money though, give it a try. Just be prepared to replace it every few months based on how often you play.

| Cool thanks for the tip. Boss has the same model gun as me and he got the fishbone and he swears by it and I have seen the results. Would you say that it's hit or miss with the gun/hopup or the actually hopup rubber itself? | |

| I've never known to be honest. I tried it in my G3 without good results and an Mp5. DT, a tech that used to work for Toy Soldiers Sports near UCF said the same thing. He used to keep a set on hand to try in guns that came in to see if he could find a "science" behind them. I don't think he ever did...
If I had to make an educated guess, it has to do with the barrel, the hop chamber and the air nozzle. As you can guess, there are a lot of variables there.
If Boss has had good luck with it, give it a try. If it fails in your gun, sweet talk him into buying yours. I'm sure in time he'll need to replace his. :-) Extra hop rubbers are always a good item to have in any field repair kit.

| I got the barrel around November of last year, I want to say I rather got it from Gi or Trinity Airsoft.
I get some money from the parents tomorow for doing some work in my moms store, so I might order it then.... I need to get a steady job or else I'll never be able to afford Airsoft =o
Thanks for the help Firemen, I appreciate this,I'm looking into the reviews from Gi and there agreeing with you, it's really hit or miss...
IT WAS GI, I SAVED A GIANT LIST OF THINGS FOR MY GUN A COUPLE MONTHS BACK AND I GOT IT FROM THERE

| Yeah, they were one of the companies who got some of the last stock of DB Customs. They do still have short barrels but nothing long over 300 or so mm. :-/ | |

| That would explain why that thing cost so much damn money, it cost me 70$ for that barrel. This makes me feel a little better about that price I paid. If I ever decide to get rid of it I now know I can get a sweet deal out of it. | |

| I hve heard that the SCS Nubs work extremely well. I have one in my G36 right now, but I have yet to test it. | |

| The barrels were that much even when the company was going full steam. You paid for the process and the material.
Right now, airsoftgi is selling their own brand of 6.01 barrels for $40.00. They are made of aluminum though. Perfectly fine if you have them in a solid gun. Prone to bending if you don't. :-P
The PDI 6.01's... Those run about $150+. Then again, they are made of CNCed stainless steel. So strong they could be your OUTER barrel. :-)
Look forward to seeing this project when you're done. I always love cool builds that aren't M4/M16's.

| I have a DBC 6.01 in my newly aquired Scar... Havent had a chance to take any long range shots. I actually never heard of them until this week. | |

| I was running around with what I have of it at Red Dawn, although I was mostly firing from vehicles so I wasn't able to get a good read of the damage I can cause with it. | |
