| Hey guys wanted to say im new to the area and had a few questions about the rules and stuff. A little about myself first I recently moved down here to melbourne from VA after my Wife Jill and unborn son Holden passed away from a brain aneurysm. I worked for the US Government for 6 years seeing multiple tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, Colombia, Panama, and Pakistan after taking an 7.62 round to the chest and breaking 3 of my ribs I said enough of that. Since I am new to the area I have been looking for a decent airsoft group to play with and figured even though Orlando is a good hour and half away from me from what I read and pics I seen this looks like the best place to play. Now the questions I have is what type of FPS restrictions do you have on the field. Because right now most of my possesions are in storage yet including my two M4s and and Mp5 in VA. And my only gun I have right now is my Mauser SR pro tac sniper rifle and it is cranked up right now. Second any teams looking for a sniper or spotter and because I am new to the area it would be nice to get to know some people. Here is a pic of the Mauser Only mods Custom painted and a CenterPoint 3x-9x-32 Illuminated Mil-dot | |

| Thanks its basically the same pattern but with tan, grey, and brown that I put on my real Heavy barrel DoubleStar AR-15 I was going to do it on my S&W M&P AR-15 but the rail system makes it a PITA. | |

| welcome aboard. if your asking about limits i think shar was asking for aeg's to be around 450 fps and snipers at 500-550 fps with a 100' minimum engagement distance (someone please correct me if i am wrong as most of you know that i don't do sniper). as far as the group all i will say is that i drive all the way from Fort Lauderdale (2.5-3 hours) to play with these guys. hope to see you on the field. | |

| On another note we really arent that competitive and have a more fun atmosphere.
The sniper rule is sort of like real life. A larger minimum engagement and 550fps should be ok, although i think he wants it closer to 500. Do you know what it chrono'd? We can have one brought out if you play to test it out.
there are some guys from that part of CFL. Pm Wolverine.

| Well last night I ordered some matrix .4s so that should put me well below the limit and a new CQB JG Li-po ready M4 (which is nice cause I fly model airplanes and have tons of lipo batteries im not using) as my backup gun. Only bad part is it has a plastic body and hop up which will be replaced as soon as I make my next order at airsoftpost.com. I also had to get a cool Army of two skull mask from there. Heres a Link to the JG tell me what you think... http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_44_222&products_id=29642 | |

| Hey, im lero and i play for skeeter airsoft, we're located pretty close to you, port st john, just under titusvile, if you ever feel like playing with us, you can register on our new forums- http://skeeterairsoft.forummotion.com/forum.htmNow, for the gun you chose, JG's are famous for their high fps, good rof, cheap prices, and easily broken guns. JG's are good starter weapons i will give them that, but after playing for years, and going through alot of guns, i would go ahead and put the money into a KWA, G+G, or CA, or even Echo 1. They are the higher end, better quality, better made, and better guns of airsoft. And JG's definition of "lipo ready" isnt always the same, or as high as others, sometimes their "lipo ready" guns and gear boxes just have metal bushings. Are you specifically looking for a CQB gun? if so, i can vouch for the performance of the ECHO 1 Bravo RDW. | |

| I know the limits to JG as I said before I have two M4s one gas one electric that I custom built in storage in VA but I need a back-up gun. Im not getting into a close range engagement with a 9lb sniper rifle this is just a back-up and if luck prevails I wont have to use it LOL . Plus I wanted something that my 6 year old nephew could handle and get used to because I am teaching him the importance of weapon safety cause both me and his father have real AR-15s that he wants to shoot one day. Plus by time I get done with the gun as with most of my airsoft guns it will be custom made. I just cant see spending 500 bucks on one purchase on a gun thats ready to go when I can slowly add upgrades upon upgrades making it more fun for me. I also dont use credit cards for purchases so therefore I only have a $500 a day limit on my bank card LOL. | |

| HoldenV - Welcome to the area. That 500-550 FPS is with .20 gram bb's. You may not chrono with .40's as the decision of your gun passing or not. I use .40's in mine too but it chrono's about 530-540 with .20's.
The 100 foot minimum engagement distance is the case as said already. AEG's were at 450 but if Shar is in fact going with "FA guidelines" like he has said in a few other posts, the full auto limit for AEG's may be 400 now. I'm sure he'll pop in and provide further clarification.
I also fully agree with you on enjoying doing the work more than going out and getting a $500.00 gun. I'd never buy a Systema for this reason. I enjoy the build as much as I enjoy using a gun on the field. :-)

| I remember Shar posted that 400 was FA guidelines, because his property has a lot of brush and wide open spaces he deemed 450 was ok as long as the person was smart about it. | |

| Yeah, I'm personally cool with either. It just needs to be specified because "FA guidelines" tends to make people think 400. :-)
Then again, having people think it's 400 isn't a bad thing...

| And I agree with you on the build Fireman the day I buy an airsoft gun over the price of a real M4 or AK boomer is when hell freezes over. Like I said I fly model airplanes I enjoy upgrading them the same too. And when I was in the government we bought a few systemas for CQB and vehicle training but tossed them out in favor of Simunition rifles and pistols. I can see people in other countries spending ridiculous amounts on Systemas due to not being able to have a real firearm but here in the good USA I will buy a real firearm anyday over an airsoft rifle. Here is an old pic of my Doublestar ar-15 that I paid $790 for in my opinion a much better buy than a replica airsoft. | |
