I was trying to add this to the post I started a long time ago about my adaptations of things but I can't seem to find it.
Slayer maybe you can help with that since the original posts prior to this design used to be here but now are not...
When I first got my hands on a AK I felt that the sling anchor above the handle was much too forward and did not balance the rifle enough for me. I improvised and found a stretchy band that came with some of my molly gear and threw a D ring on it to use during the Vietnam game. The strap worked perfect and gave me no issues and upon inspection of the soft coated stock I see no damage after a full day of gaming.
I found today a small cat collar for a buck so took a chance to see if it provided the same functionality and it seems to hold very well. The only alteration you would have to make is to stitch across a 1/2" section to keep it from possibly adjusting open during game play. By hand it would take all of 5 minutes!
