Echo makes good starter guns. They used to be made exclusivly by JG but I think some of thier new stuff is G&G combat machine.
I dont know of many problems they have and it should last you a while.

I back that opinion. I started out with a G36K from Echo1 and it was a strong/fast shooter. Was definately upgradeable but I eventually wanted an M4 platform.

That looks like a decent gun. It doesnt come with a battery.
A 9.6v NiMH 1600 MAH is about the biggest you can fit in the foregrip. You'll pay about $30 for the 9.6 and charger.
You can fit just about any size MAH 11.1 LiPO in the foregrip, you'll pay over $100 for this guy with a charger.
Since you have to buy a battery, I would go with the LiPO. Check at an RC car store because they usually have LiPO's cheaper than airsoft sites.
Also look into a LiPO battery monito, I think they run about $20 and will let you know when the voltage gets too low.

Thanks for the input! Excuse me for the repeat question, but when you say any size, does that mean that I am no longer limited to the nunchuck style if I go LiPo? I don't mind dropping the extra cash for a battery that is going to last a while.

Lipo's are dimensionally smaller than NiMH's. An 11.1v 3200mah "brick" battery is about the same dimensions as a 9.6v 1600mah NiMH "brick". What that means is you get considerably more voltage for approx. twice the run time.

LiPO's do have the potential to melt or catch fire if not charged properly. Get a good charger, a "LiPO sack" and babysit the battery while charging and you should be ok.

If you run LiPO cells to less than 3v per cell you can ruin the battery. An 11.1 LiPO has three cells so if you run it below 9v you could damage the battery. The nice thing is that with the right charger you can get an 11.1 LiPO to sustain about 12.3v for about the first 20% of it usage.Get a 3 cell LiPO monitor and install it in the foregrip with your battery and you should be fine with that aswell.

Go to an RC car specialty store and talk to them about LiPO's, they've been using them for a while now. They will usually have batteries, chargers, LiPO sacks and monitors cheaper than airsoft stores. Don't go there looking for NiMH thogh, they usually only carry 8.4v and smaller.

On a side note. If you decide to go with the Matrix gun or any gun for that matter, and you plan on running a LiPO: take tthe gun to Fireman and have him shim it properly and install an AB MOSFET with some "Deans" connectors. Youl be happy you did and so will your gears.

I understand that they are smaller, but are they small enough to fit in an M4, as from i'm reading, M4s take smaller batterys . For instance, would I use this setuo

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_171&products_id=30759

Or this

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_171&products_id=24491

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_171&products_id=30777

And for the sack, I assume you mean something like

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_171&products_id=31070

I would go with these:

LiPO sack: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_236&products_id=3692 or the one you posted, either will be fine.

A battery like this: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_236&products_id=5038

or this:

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_171&products_id=27374
This is the one I would go with, the green battery in the pic is the one I have in my M4 currently. My current battery measures 4 3/4"x 1 3/8"x 3/4" and it fits beautifully in the fore grip. I could probably go to a 10.8 NiMH 1600mah thats 5 3/8 logn but I'm going to LiPO when I get the rest of my body parts installed.

Get this:http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_171&products_id=30727

and these:http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=2807

Again check an RC car store. They will have all of this stuff for probably the cost of the batter by itself.

Any RC car stores that you know of in the area?

I'm almost 100% sure that I am going with this gun, it seems that the internals are very nice for its price tag. I have however been comparing it to Echo1's scar. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_163&products_id=3885 The M4 seems to be a better gun all the way around, but the scar has a nice look to it, and I think I would like the feel better. Overall, I think I would rather place my money with the higher quality gun until i've been able to play the sport a little more.

Btw, on your website, you clocks are off by 12 hours.

Thanks for all the help btw.

Thanks a lot. That actually works out pretty well, my work is at kirkman and carrier. When are you in this week?

Now that I have the gun and battery decided on, any reccomendations for a mask. I was thinking of http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=24174 with either saftey glasses or http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_149&products_id=29961 under it.

Also looking for a reccomendation on a chest rig, and extra midcap mags. http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=23_56_439&products_id=25388 seem to have good reviews for mags.

Yeah, I'v adjusted the clock a couple times. I dont know what the deal is.

Thor will probably have the deans connectors, LiPO sack, monitor and a better charger for less money than the airsoft shops.
There is a hobby shop by my hous in Casselberry that has LiPO 11.1v 3200mah for $39 and a pretty good charger for $40, set of 2 Deans for $7 and LiPO sacks for $25.

Of course. Although it may be funny to walk into a shopping center, packing a 1:1 M4. Paint the tip black, and I may be sacked by some security before I set foot into the store!

The full mask from evike is fine. I thin JoseS13 has the sme one.

You technically wont need glassis under because of the mesh eye piece. Glasses would only be required under the mask if you play at Waynes World or anywhere that requires BioBB'S. The BB's can shatter and penetrate the mesh.

A well fitting pair of ANSI rated safety glasses work fine for most small games unless your worried about getting Herpes marks on you face.
I have a set of thoes shooting goggles and the fog up if you even think about wearing them.

Most guys wear a balaclava and a set of Tac-goggles. I prefer this method because most masks make it impossible to sight down you weopon properly.

Look at the ESS Profile goggles with the fan. They run like $120 but are Mil-Spec and have a two-speed in the top and they almost never fog up.

Those MAG mid caps are a good choise. I'm going to oder a couple cases of them for stock in a couple weeks.

For the Radiant Spear event, I found this under the rules:

Personal Protection Fully sealing eye protection REQUIRED. Impact rated, fully sealed eye protection must be worn at all times on the game fields. NO SHOOTING GLASSES or MESH GOGGLES allowed. Players caught in violation of this rule on the field will be removed from the game with no refund given. Full face protection is strongly suggested but not required - either a balaclava or a full paintball mask that covers both your ears and mouth.

Thats why I decided to get the mesh mask and the sealing goggles. Do you know of any cheap goggles that have minimal fog. I am VERY close to my $500 limit. (Thats the max I want to spend to kick this off)

Here is what I have so far.

Gun: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=32419

Mags: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=25388

Ammo: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=31299

Eyes: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=29961

Face: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=24174

Head: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=30112

Hands: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=24905{2}5

Chest: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=28491

Legs: http://www.american-armynavy.com/BDU-1939.htm

The face and eyes are obviously up for change if you can reccomend something better. Also feel free to give your input on anything else there.

The balaclava and goggles will give you a better cheek weld on your gun and hence better accuracy. In this case of all CQB I would go full face and work on point shooting accuracy for the game. It will be close enough.
The mask with the fan will be your best bet.

.23g and .25 BB's will be best in you gun due to the FPS. If you are not reguired to use BioBB's than I would go with regulars. Bio's tend to get soft over a few weeks after the bag is opened. You wont use the whole bag at this OP.

You will also want to get a speed loader for those mags. like this one:http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=26861 .It will repoad 4 mags in one fill. Loading mid caps by hand will be tedeous and take forever.

That vest will work well for you. Its the same one I have. If you are not carrying a pistol than I would suggest you get one of these:http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_159&products_id=30940.

Replace the pistol holster with this and you will beable to carry 7 mags on your vest. ( thats what I did.)

I would recommend a full face mask for sure. Some people have got broken teeth from getting shot up close in the mouth. That would not be a pretty site.

I've done it. Not my tooth. A friend of mine at about 25' with my M4 shooting a .30g BB at about 430fps. By accident of course.
I could hear the "click" from the impact. Caught the tooth next to the front one. Broke the bottem 1/8" right off.
We went to full masks, than transitioned to a balaclava and goggles with a football mouth gaurd.
