PostSubject: Operation Red Star   Sat Mar 20, 2010 7:55 pm

With the global Recession the Russian economy finially plummeted. Cival War broke out, in the fray a military up rise occurred and the Soviet regime was restored once again. To supplant their economy, the Russian took to expanding their lands in a desperate grab for resources. The Soviets soon conquered all of Europe with the exception of England, Northern Africa, and the Middle East. The Soviets have also allied with There Communist brothers the Chinese in a grab to take Asia and the Pacific islands.

To counter the threat of an American or English counter attack, the Soviets are parachuting Paratroopers and Spetnaz team onto Airfields and Missile bases to take them out. This has been accomplished by using AC-130's (stolen from the Americans when the Soviets invaded the Middle East).

A team has been sent by the Soviets to a missile facility outside of Orlando to take out Short ranged Nuclear war heads that can be fired at Cuba, where the Soviets will be launching their invasion of the South-East from.

Soviet objectives:
1)capture and disarm nuclear warhead/s
2) Disable alarm system before set off to prevent American Reinforcements.
3)capture American officer to gather more intel on defense situations in the surrounding are.

American objectives
1) defend nuclear warhead
2) Capture Soviet Officer (one of the two) for integration regarding Intel about the invasion.
3) Capture Russian landing zone and then proceed to kill all Ruskies before they re-capture it and they can receive more reinforcements.

THE GAME WILL END WHEN:

The Americans capture the Soviet Officer.

OR

The warhead has been disarmed and the Soviets make it succesfully back to a predetermined spot for retrieval. WHILE THE SOVIETS ARE MAKING IT BACK TO THE PICKUP POINT, THEY CAN STILL BE SHOT OR CAPTURED, MEANING THE AMERICANS CAN STILL CAPTURE THE SOVIET OFFICER.

Soviet uniforms:
Spetnaz: Tiger Stripe or any Russian variant Camo.
Paratroopers: OD green, black

American uniforms:
Army personal: Multicam, Woodland, Marpat
Missile workers: ACU

Once/if alarm is sounded, A QRT will arrive to assist the Americans.

AS LONG AS THE RUSSIAN CONTROL THERE LANDING ZONE, THEY CAN RECEIVE REINFORCEMENTS, IF THEY LOSE THE LANDING ZONE THEY CAN NO LONGER RECEIVE REINFORCEMENTS UNTIL THEY RE-CAPTURE THE LANDING ZONE!

Yeah, I've been thinking of good operations to do, I thought this one had a good plot and wasn't overly complicated.

just one realism point. the norad "code" would be on a Secured computer. if said instillation came under attack and the CO even thought the code was going to be compromised 1 of three things would happen:
1. Automatic destruct program built into the computer would trigger and turn the computer into a paper weight.
2. CO would take a SAW to saidcomputer and destroy it.
3. the Co would take an AX to the computer.

just my thoughts.

Can you think of another objective to accomplish then?

disable base communications before a distress signal can be sent to alert nearby US forces of the situation and they respond. If the distress signal is sent then Russians have 5 minutes to find and capture garrison CO before US QRT arrives and secures the base. we could use the Beast as a transport for the QRT. they would be on a seperated coms channel that would be in a sealed package. garrison CO would have to go to a specified location and get the package, open it, and put radio on specified channel. QRT can not move from the staging area until they get the call from the US CO. another way we could do it is if someone has 2 handheld CB radios

Manually taking out the missiles? Like SAM sites...

Make the whole thing centered around Homestead AFB in Miami. At this point they put the country on DEFCON 3, constructed missile sites in the southern us and alaska. The russians went all navy seals from a sub, and deployed a special ops team of ________ guys to disable the network of SAM sites (multiple?) and Infiltrate the Nuke storage facility to steal ether a nuke itself or the uranium/plutonium (smaller to carry) to build their own bomb.

Scenario one:
Ruskies on offense
Drop the defenses.
Steal materials and return them to "sub" dropoff point.
Build a nuke with our new materials at a secure base (pretend its in Cuba).
Launch.
Kaboom.
Russians win.

Americans on defense first.
Americans can defend their base. Roaming patrols on set paths.
Transport the materials to a safer location to keep them guessing. (On golf cart?)
Two bases?
Maintain defenses for 1 hour.
They win.

Scenario two:
If russians win...
Americans must attack Cuba to thwart nuclear strike. Russians defend missiles.

If Americans win...
Ruskies will be hunted down like the dogs they are. sweeping manhunt while they run back to their subs... kidnap officer for intel if possible.

Another scenario?

Why would the Russians be making there own bomb? They have plenty of them, in fact so many that they are selling them now...

I can see switching it to Miami, I was just trying to make it located actually where the Fire zone was.

how about the russians have to disable multiple Nike Hercules missile sites and destroy the control center for a follow on airborn invasion

You could probably solve the problem that Mark stated by changing the methods you use to accomplish your goal. Instead of going in to obtain the code in an outright attack the soviet force could have to accomplish the mission using stealth.

in response to opheria here is the issue with using stealth:

in the real world information of that type would be top secret. to get into an area that has top secret information you would have to get through layers of security, both human and electronic. i doubt that stealth would get you in as there would be guards 4-5 layers deep.

so unless we have a Robert Hanssen in this game lets go with the S&D mission

Just brainstorming... Maybe they sold them all? Smile Maybe they have to steal intel on where the troop concentrations are for their attack...

How about if they cant get the SAM sites down, they have to sneak in a warhead...

Maybe the objective should be disrupting communications so we cant counter attack...

Im too tired to be thinking right now.
