| If its still there when you log in here, PLEASE log in over there and put out your viewpoints. http://www.floridaairsoft.com/forums/messages.php?forumID=1&topicname=I%20probably%20will%20get%20banned%20for%20this...&topicID=10971#114903Copied from post: Title: I WILL PROBABLY GET BANNED FOR THIS... DISCLAIMER: Read this with an open mind.
Have you guys over here ever wondered what it is that you are doing to the Airsoft community? I have run into countless people who either moved here, or were getting to the point where they wanted to try the game out, only to be discouraged by joining this site. In fact it has been my sole purpose in coming onto this site, to gather up the scolded, banned, and deleted people in hopes that they may still continue the sport. MANY people are dissappointed in this site and believe it to push people away. You may think i'm just trying to start shit, but I am trying to better the situation by sticking my neck out there for the chopping block.
NO, I know what you are thinking, im not referring to minors, in fact i haven't rounded up any minors. But maybe i am dissappointed in the aspect of the way they are handled. Should you shun them, delete their posts in a fury of authoritatve strokes? No, refer them to the rules professionally, and inform them of possible avenues of play with their parents at specific fields. A quick delete and release of your stamp of justice does not equate to promoting the sport. I know what you are going to say... "But if they could just read the rules...?!" Get them knowledgable now, before they show up to game on their 18th birthday with a clear walmart crosman gun...
Heres a perfect example: A 17 yr old, about to turn 18 in THREE weeks, asks your opinions on where to buy guns here in CFL, what to buy, and how the games usually play here, so that when he turns 18 in THREE weeks he will be ready on the first weekend... He was really excited to play. DELETED. Said because of this site he almost quit, until I emailed him.
Example 2: Guy moves down from some northern state with his two underage kids... He asks very nicely about if there is any place down here to play with his kids, because up there he did. Whats that? LOCKED/or DELETED after someone told him where he could.
There are a lot of people concerned about this site hindering the sport. And some of the MODs are cool about things, some are not. Before you pull out the magic stamp of justice on me, remember this is constructive criticism, and I have broken no rules. What is ask is that after you read this you step away from the computer and ask if this is you or not. Hopefully by the time you come back to your computer, you will have a different viewpoint. If you got mad, chances are you are one of them. I know, I know, i dont spend the time on the site like you do...
I ask everyone this... How many new people have you brought out to play in the past month..? Past 6 months?
I have hosted dozens of games now, under $10. usually $3-5. I have at least 5-6 new people a month. In fact i have to buy more guns to loan out. I thought about starting a store because every new person I have brought out liked it so much they were searching for guns that night on the 'net.
I am trying to promote the sport. I am even trying to change the girl to guy ratio, because fella's, it plain sucks.
Again, this is not meant to belittle, chastise, or whatever. It seems all my posts here are stirring up crap. AND before someone says "Then dont come on this site if you dont like it!" This is for all the people who come across this site on the first search. You guys need to be the gateway drug. This site needs to entice people into getting hooked on Airsoft.
Hops off soapbox

| They refuse to understand. Its not the allowance of minors, its how they treat people.

| Here is what I put
Now before I start, I'd like to say that I never joined the FA forums because of how FA treated people. Now Tedder will agree that I'm a level headed person, I've talked to him in person many times and we have gotten into situations where people where losing there temper and I was the one of the few level headed people to calm everyone down and get things back going. I'd like to pretend that I'm a respected person over on the Sharsworld forums too.
Anyways, the big question for me is, why can 17 years serve our country in the millitary, and not play a nice game of airsoft in FA? I've never serve, but I have plenty of friend that do and our 17 and quite angry at the fact that they can't play airsoft with me when I go to game.
That being said, the reason why I'm hear is really the fact that when I was 17, I sent an email asking why I can't play with FA. I do not remember who it was to, but I do remember that I received an email in return saying "We don't have to explain to you why minors can't play with FA" or something along the lines of that.
Also, I'm sorta hoping you guys bann me for this, because you will just prove my point further.
I hope you all have a nice day. | |

| ok so due to us now allowing minors are we going to have any restrictions? my opinion is that minors are OK as long as either MOM, DAD, or GUARDIAN comes out and plays with them too and understands that they will be treated the same as any other player on the field, ie they will be given the same amount of trigger time as the adults and will be equal opportunity targets like the rest of us. no special rules for shooting them. and how about a 16 and over age limit. and if the kid doesnt follow the rules then they are gone. thats just my idea, input appreciated. | |

| I think that sounds more than reasonable I might have made the age 15 but no younger than that. I think we've all seen it proven the few times that kids have come out to play with us that they actually do follow the rules and call their hits more than some adults do so I have no problem with it. | |

| Mark I think 15+ would be good. Or maybe 16+ with some 15 year olds if they show maturity. I also think that parents should only have to come out there once, not repetlly ( don't know if you meant that but just saying) | |

| I told Shar if he really is going to do this, to at least have the parents come out in person to sign a waiver. I would prefer that they play with parents, but at a minimum, a liability waiver is a must. | |

| In GA we do have some games were it is 16 plus our logic is if you are old enough to have a license then you should be good to go. We have seen kids as young as 12 with their father and my 10 year old shadowed me around the field without a gun once. As a general rule though it is 16 plus with a wink wink nudge nudge if we really know you and your child. | |

I dont think they understand that my whole deal is how they act towards new members asking questions. But they think im talking about others, in fact I dont know who they are talking about...

| Thanks, hopefuly I'm more effective with talking to people than they are... I'm glad this came up, it shows how people truly think and stuff, I've been having an email discussion with Tony, who seems to be the only level headed person there. Also 5 bucks saying they won't let me do the emails because I just joined. | |

| Its funny Ivan accused me of not wanting to help, when I was asking them if they could just be nicer to people. It all starts with the staff there. | |

| LOL you guys are funny as hell so much for constructive criticism. But Im reading all this stuff with my eyes all dilated ( from my eye doctor) and all doped up on my Anti depressants just laughing my ass off. Cause I thought your post was written very well Tedder and from what I can see ( and looking at my screen is like a hot poker to my eyes) most do not really give a shit about constructive criticism. | |
