gentlemen and ladies,

im trying to get a 5vs5 CQB tournament going at Combat City once a month on the 18 and over day. rules would be either both teams start on opposing sides of the kill house or we flip a coin and one team attacks and one defends. tournament will be a single elimination bracket style. second option is to do a paper target comp. each team would start with 1000 points. each minute elapsed would deduct 100 points. each target missed would deduct 100 points. a miss would be defined as either a completely non shot target or a target without a kill shot on it. thinking of maybe doing medals for the top 2 or 3 teams. let me know if anyone is interested and which idea you like.

we saw first hand that the CQB outside start works great. The "kill House" was perfect for the outaside start.. A complete inside start would prob not work because of the size of the place. BUT, with the field still in the building stages, I am sure some small Cover can be built outside that would in fact add more playable sq footage to the kill house. These "Cover" structures would all have a vantage point to certain parts of the interior, but not all of it, so advancement would be necessary for completion of scenerio. Said vantage point would work both ways, allowing the Operators inside to actually address hostiles.

We tried Search and Destroy, but every round except 1 was pretty much a death match. I think we maxed out at 8 vs 8 and those session were lasting no more than 5 minutes b4 one side was victorious.

The paper target idea could def work, in a Room Clearing scenerio.. We could time the teams on how long a complete building clearing.

The guy from Airsoftology actually mentioned something very interesting. He has been looking for a place to setup a team challenge. It would force a team of five to basically show every necessary skill. They would have to breach, clear the house, and snipe certain targets. The example he gave was to place a balloon or a target in a location and require the sniper to pick it off before his team could move on to the other stations. It sounded intriguing.

Also, there is an idea that we have been throwing around for using overwhelming force at different times in a scenario. One of the suggestions was to put a team of five in the CQB house with limited weapons and ammo. Then, we take a team of about 10 who are armed to the teeth and have them rush the house. It would be a strategy/endurance type of thing. We would still have a bracket system.

Come out on Saturday. It's easier to talk about things if you can walk around and actually point.
