When the D-Day landing fell apart on the beaches of Normandy, the hope of Democracy died alongside tens of thousands of Allied troops. The success of the Third Reich's atomic weapons project halted the Red Army in the radioactive ruins of Poland. Operation SeaLion ground the British Empire beneath the heel of the Reich and the threat of German atomic bombers over Moscow brought Stalin to sign a ceasefire in 1945
German and Japanese troops landed on the east and west coasts of the United States in 1946, ripping through the broad heartlands with strategic atomic strikes that neutralized massed US resistance. Working feverishly, the Manhattan project was able to complete its work from new facilities in Calgary and the remnants of the United States and Canada detonate atomic weapons against German forces near Colorado Springs and Sioux Falls. By the time the cease-fire was signed in 1949, all that remained of the United States was a crippled handful of states in the Pacific North-West and east along the Canadian border to North Dakota.
Now, 60 years later, the citzens of chafe under the control of Berlin and the Amerikanisches Reichsgovernor. Crop failures and inability to meet industrial production quotas have increased the pressure from Berlin and deadly force has quelled protests against the Reichsgovernor. A renewed resistance movement inside the American Reich is growing. In the Reichstaat of Florida, the drama begins as Free Amerircan, Canadian and Cuban forces infiltrate from Cuba to fan the embers of resistance into open rebellion!

Resistance fighters in occupied America will fight in civilian clothes.
If they are unarmed and have their papers in order... they may be able to pass German lines. This is a great way to report on German activity and perhaps even meet resistance contacts in German-controlled territory.
The following links will take you to JPG files of an interior and exterior of an American Ausweis. Two per page. Print out front and back on a piece of paper and cut to make two separate sets of papers. Consider printing the cover on card stock paper and the interior on regular paper. Cut and paste the interior into the card stock cover. Take a headshot of yourself and paste it into the interior page. Complete the personal information inside the Ausweis.

Players in civilian clothes may attempt to pass through German checkpoints.
Civilians must be in civilian clothing. Trying to pass through a German checkpoint wearing an Allied uniform is likely to get you shot or arrested.
Civilians must pass through the checkpoints. Obvious attempts to evade the checkpoint pr slipping into the town through the woodline are suspicious and grounds for arrest or summary execution.
Civilians must have no visible weapons. Guards at a checkpoint may announce they are "searching" the civilian. Players are expected to announce if they have a concealed weapon that will be discovered in the search. Carrying a concealed weapon is grounds for arrest or summary execution. (hint - Don't try to sneak a weapon through a checkpoint)
Civilians must have their paperwork in order. Civilians passed through a checkpoint must provide their Ausweis on demand. If the photo doesn't match the player or the name is that of a known member of the resistance, the player may be arrested or executed. (hint: Resistance fighters should prepare several "forged" sets of identity papers with their own photo but different names.)
If these criteria or met, the civilian may pass through German lines or entered German-held towns. This does not mean they may be given access to specially guarded buildings or German HQ.
Beware the Gestapo!
Resistance fighters need to beware the Gestapo. Several German players will be designated as the Gestapo and Gestapo commander. They will maintain a notebook tracking identified resistance fighters. Whenever a civilian passes through a checkpoint, the guards may check a list of known members of the resistance or radio to the Gestapo to check the civilian's name.
Even if the identity papers are in order and you pass through German lines. Be aware that the Germans may write down your name and when you pass the checkpoint. If a suspicious action or attack occurs while you are inside German lines, your name may be added to the Gestapo's list of known or suspected members of the resistance. That means you may not be able to use that set of documents again!
Also be aware that the Gestapo may very well have their own agents infiltrating the resistance!
