| I've seen that water and I wouldn't even want it on me let alone me being in it. Not to mention what might be hidden under the surface.
Shar: There was another area on the north west of the property that had an old cart path that went West and then turned to go South. It has some sort of ditch or something off to the east side of it that had a decent drop off. Do you know if that has been cleared out or left as is?

| Picture a golf course. Now imagine it has had a chance to overgrow for some time. That's the simple explanation.
The complicated explanation is that it has a mixture of both thick overgrowth and thin plains. There is plenty of cover and would make for a great sniper's paradise. At the same time, there is plenty of area to give those same snipers a run for their money. You can't just sit and wait for people to come by. The field is far too big for that. It could easily handle 200 people. In fact, I imagine it could handle up to 200 players on EACH TEAM and still have room to spare.
Basically, if you're coming out on the 12th or 13th, put your big boy pants on.

| In other words this ain't your momma's airsoft field. If I attend one of these games I might have to rethink the weapons I bring with me if we might be going up against these types of numbers. | |

| Sniper's paradise was what I also thought when I heard about the terrain and saw the one picture of the field on their website.
I can see a lot of "range battles" happening here. In other words "who can reach farther" rather than who can hide behind cover.
Get your hop ups working!

| there are alot of trails but they are "open" trails. so you got to go from one area to another but ur ass will be exposed. than the southeast side has a densely treed area but its small. there is a very deep and wide canal bordering the field to the east. the canal is off limits. the national guard storage bunkers (real bunkers where they used to store military equipment and may still do so) are south of the field and a stones throw away. there are lots of "marge simpson hairstyle" bushes that almost look like you are in the middle of africa. dave showed me the road of where he wants the boundry to be, right before that are the 2 ponds which will prob have barrels and a zip line in far future. there are some elevated areas (maybe 15ft high) of where the golf course used to be and generally It is a dream field. we can still use firezone for "black forrest european style warefare", firezone is great, shaded, nice for forrest combat, and also we are getting some big "pipes" in there for "bunkers", I think I will use firezone in the future only for night games on times that dave cannot or doesnt want to bother with smaller groups of 20-40 players, but I can only dream of having the contours combatcity has on my property.

| Shar has done a great job of posting things but maybe I can clear a few things. There will be NO paintball, it was mentioned early on but NO. If it does come it will be COMPLETELY seperate from this field. We will be open daily starting in July. Hours to be announced. The weekend of June 12 and 13 is from 1000 until whenever. It is an intro to the field and at reduced admission to get everyone out there and to check out the field. The shoothouse will be up for missions and some entries, etc. The 12th is all ages, 13th is 18 and up. check the website for updated info www.orlandoairsoft.netAll of you have been very helpful and supportive and it is much appreciated. Please understand with all the hype things will have hiccups and not all 100% on this weekend, so be understanding and know that this is being done to get feedback and improve things so it is kick ass in July when open working on the zip line to achieve an objective but it will be at least end of July for that. Working on some cool and unique things and will implement them over the next few months. | |

| Fireman, I don't think there will be as many range battles as you might think. Given the size of the field and the physical capabilities of an airsoft sniper, it might be possible for someone to either flank and attack a sniper or just go all the way around them. At the same time, I could see a sniper sitting out there, getting punchy, and giving away his position because he makes a mistake.
As Shar said, there are some clear paths that are laid out. However, there is plenty of brush that can be navigated through that isn't too thick.
Probably the funniest thing I saw out there was this huge bog that looks like solid land, but is about a foot thick lake of sludge. I can't wait to see who runs through it.

I meant it in the sense where you see the other team and slowly move towards one another until you can hit the other. Much of the time if one team takes off they will be chased in such a situation so in open field battle I've seen many a player engage in battle that reminded me all too much of old revolutionary war style fighting minus the lines of solders. It's certainly not the best way to do it but when it comes to deciding between turning and running or advancing and shooting, many choose to advance and shoot until the enemy is in the range of their guns OR they get hit when the enemies guns out range theirs.
So yes. There will be a lot of range battles. It's the nature of open field combat. If you have nowhere to hide, you rely on being far enough away from an enemy that their guns can't reach you and you kill other enemies by having guns that can reach out farther than theirs so that you can hit them but they can't hit you back.
