| So i got to work opening up my brothers JG S system because Ed broke it last weekend. I figured it was just a wire not connecting somewhere because there was no response at all when you pull the trigger, not even the futile budge of the motor, and it has no fuse so i figured it was in the gearbox. I take the gearbox out and i immediately notice that the piston is pulled back, but whats strange is i can tell that its not made of that crappy material normal pistons you get in JG guns are made of. In fact! It was a full metal tooth polycarb piston like this! Weird huh? But theres more.... I also noticed that the bushings were metal... and not the normal plastic crap you get in low price guns like JG.... Not done yet! It had a metal (not brass) bore up cylinder... And to finished it all off! The gears were def not the normal crap XYZ you get in JG guns. Only the Spur gear had "GE" pressed into it. But the freaking bevel gear had a freaking bearing in it! Never in my life would i have guessed a freaking JG Gearbox had any of this shit in it... Maybe thats why Ed likes fritts's gun so much... lol | |

| Is it a stock (NEW) gun? I have worked on tons of this model and none of them had that stuff in it.. Or is it the new enhanced LIPo Ready Version with FET? Havent worked on one opf those yet. | |

| That particular piston is found in all AIM gearboxes or the "Matrix custom" guns which are also AIM brand. Quite possible that at one point JG went over to the same company that makes AIM guns and then backed off due to price or such. I've had some JG guns (not even the Lipo ready ones but plain old JG's with ABS bodies) that had nice chrome plated polished cylinders and metal bushings and the XYZ gears but where they were ACTUALLY shimmed well. Chinese guns are like a box of chocolates... | |

| i can promise you that this gun has NEVER been opened in the gear box. And yes it was shimmed... but not well, u can see some scratch marks on the spur gear where the sector gear rubbed against it. | |

| The stock JG "enhanced" gearbox has all of the upgrades you listed minus the full metal teeth on the piston.
The "GE" on the piston stands for "Golden Eagle" which is the "High Torque" motor that also comes stock in the "Enhanced" models.
The gear box may not have been opened but it is NOT the gearbox that came in that gun from the factory. That box could have been swapped by your friend either before, during or after the innitial purchase.
Holden and I have both put these JG "Enhanced" gearboxes though tons of torture without issue. My box was still running when I opened it and it had 70k+ BB's with an 10.8v battery and the M120 spring now resides in Tedders SAW.
Holden box had 70k+ (I believe) BB's though it with an 11.1 LiPO before the piston failed.
The box had 6mm metal bushings, metal spring guide, M120 spring, polycarb piston, plastic piston head w/bearring, GE spur and sector gears, G&P bearring bevel gear, ported bore-up cylinder and head and the box itself had the usual cylinder head area reinforcements.
Very nice for the money. | |

| My JG M4 enhanced shoots hard and has been reliable so far. It has the same gearbox that AutoX was talking about. I doubt I'll find the same internals as you but it would be nice. Sounds like the entire Gearbox might have been swapped like Auto mentioned. | |
