NO LONGER FOR SALEI’m pairing down my arsenal and am in need of money for the summer (summer camp pays crap) so this is the first of several guns that will be for sale here in the near future.
This "Tommy gun" (Thompson model 1928 with drum magazine, vertical grip and true to form outer barrel) was something I sought after for a LONG time. It’s such a unique piece and turns a lot of heads when you pull it out at a game. I’ll be honest, I’m a little sad to see it go but simply find myself grabbing the L85 when I’m not using the VSR-10 so it’s time for it to go. The gun has seen all of two games and a bit of staging area plinking. The body is in immaculate shape.
The gun has full trades even down to the U.S. Patent numbers on the upper receiver. The drum magazine has the “Thompson” logo and the upper has the model and serial number as well.
What’s been done to it:
- “Firefet” Active Breaking Mosfet (made by myself)
- Complete 16GA rewire
- Metal bushings
- High ROF shim (shimmed to where .01 locks and then pulled back .02). Nice and tight shim job while allowing for high cycle rates.
- Cleaned up air leaks
- Cleaned up gearbox and relubed
- Dean's Plug
When this gun came to me it shot about 330 FPS in the mid teens with an 11.1 lipo.
Currently it shoots 22 rounds a second and does so at 390-400 FPS with the same 11.1 lipo.
The range is AMAZING. With the hop turned all the way down it get .20’s out to about 180-190 feet! .25’s with a little hop go even farther. All this with an M4 length barrel!
The gun is well made, it has a full metal upper, outer barrel and vertical grip mounting plate. The “wood” is plastic but is very well done. The lower is also made of high quality ABS and on initial inspection was mistaken for metal until I began to take the gun apart.
I’ve also widened out the stock so it can fit a larger battery. It came only able to fit a mini with a bit of work. Now it can fit “large type” lipo’s among other shapes and sizes of battery packs.
Drum magazine holds 450 rounds and has a nice easy “propeller” winding system in the front. You can also load more bb’s into the magazine without removing it from the gun making for quick reloads even while still firing (yeah… I’ve done it. Ha ha ha).
So the final specs:
-390-400 FPS
-180-190 foot range
-22 rounds a second (with 11.1 lipo)
-450 round mag capacity
-Able to use standard stick magazines.
PRICE: $200.00
