Combat City this Saturday, July 10th

Topic pretty much says it all... I'm getting together my old drumline buddies to head out to Combat City, and we're looking to have as many people as we can get. We're gonna try to be there when the gates open so I can pick up something from Auto.

So far I have four friends going plus myself. Who all's gonna be there this Saturday?

I think we're actually gonna hold off till next Saturday due to the conflict in games (WW game same day). Hopefully that way we'll have a larger turn out... Would you be able to make it next weekend?

So, is something happening this weekend at Combat City or not?

I'm not bringing my group. I'm told there's a turn out of around 60 players every weekend, but with Op Crystal Razor going on at WW, I'm under the impression that not too many +18's will be out at CC tomorrow. We're just going to wait till next weekend in the interest of having a larger group to skirmish with.

Oh. Cool. I may show up but, I doubt I'll play. Combat City has next to no cover. It's far too hot for games right now without some sort of cover.

Well, they have the buildings (old club house), they have a fortress made out of boxes that are movable and I think there's a few other towers and bunkers. Just from pictures I've seen, I haven't actually played there yet. Whenever I make it out there, be it next saturday or not, I'm going to make sure to do a SR mission and write up a report with pictures for future intel packets.

Well, the field at Combat City is very open. It's really just a bunch of tall weeds. There's a few groups of pines, but they're so sparce. The woodland area to the east of the main field is majorly full of thorns. They're just about impassable. They do have a few makeshift forts scattered about the place, but only one is covered well with shade. If you're on the opposing team meant to overtake it, you're gonna have one hell of a day because EVERYTHING surounding it is open to the sun. Here in Florida, during these months, that's not good. I went through a gallon of ice and a gallon of ice water, not to mention a few bottles of cold water courtesy of Tedder, in three or four hours and still went home dizzy as hell and barely coordinated from dehydration from the heat. (Of course, I am a bit out of shape.) But still, I won't play out there anymore until it cools off quite a bit. If you're playing next weekend you'll find out what it's like first hand. I hear people keep "falling out" there from the heat. I'm gonna try to make it out there next weekend, but I won't be playing. I highly doubt it'll be cool enough unless it's totally overcast or raining. If so, I may actually get involved but, if it does rain, it'll be hot as hell when it stops. You can count on that.
