RED DAWN - GAME BACK TO ORIGINAL FIREZONE FIELD.

WE HAVE FOUND A TEMPORARY SOLUTION FOR PARKING AT THE ORIGINAL FIREZONE FIELD. HENCE WE WILL HAVE YOU GO THERE. ALSO, IF YOU HAVE A SMALLER VEHICLE, YOU CAN COME TO MY HOUSE 7741 POINTVIEW CIR WHERE YOU WILL BE SHUTTLED TO GAME AND BACK.
EVERYTHING STAYS THE SAME AS FAR AS GAME RULES, AS OF NOW, THE DAVENPORT LOCATION MAY BE USED IN THE FUTURE BUT FOR THIS GAME WE ARE "BACK TO NORMAL" AT THE ORIGIANAL LBV APOPKA VINELAND FIELD.

The map doesn't point to anything.

Any information about the area? Restrooms? Type of Road? etc

There seems to be houses between A and the lake/quarry thing if you go straight right so whats is the deal there? Are we meeting at your house and caravaning to the new location Shar?

Shar, are we still doing carpooling at your house? When do you plan leaving your house at?




I HIGHLY SUGGEST HAVING PEOPLE AT THE OLD FIELD, BECAUSE SOME IDIOTS WILL NOT LOG ONTO HERE AND EN UP GOING TO THE OTHER FIELD AND WILL NEED SOMEONE TO TELL THEM TO GO TO THE OTHER FIELD. MAYBE HAVE TWO GUYS SIT THERE TILL 11, OR MAYBE PUT UP ALOT OF SIGNS TELLING THEM TO GO TO THE OTHER FIELD?

Good point. I also suggest that we get a list of phone numbers for mass texting in emergencies only...


We will be going there tomorrow at 11am to organize parking and such....

There is a road called Temples Ln that heads south into a clearing. That will give you a better idea of the location.

That puts you on the road Shar says goes south right into the large open area that they plan to use for parking.

I also suggested Shar put up a sign at the old field right in the middle of the road with his number and directions or an address or such.

Hell... Have a sign there with 50 copies of a map from the old field to the new location! Do it like those signs they have in front of houses for sale. :-)

Just a couple of questions...

Is this a private field? Do we know the owners?

Have any of you ever played on this field before?

Like CharleyNovember, I also noticed the group of buildings/houses near the lake area to the east of the parking site. Do we know the people that live there?

This are is owned by Shar/his dad/ or his business partners. I have never played on this field, but trust me, the last thing Shar wants to do is get us in trouble.

What exactly is wrong with the field we usually use? I like it...

yes there is plenty of parking area out there.
we dont have enough parking area on our field plus the access road is currently blocked until my dad gets hiz dozer in there and makes us our own road.
this is private property and we are allowed to use/build/shoot in there indefinitely.
no caravaning from my house everyone just meet there.
I will have someoene wait at the old field just in case but 4 days and mass email to everyone should be plenty of time.
no restrooms at the field use mother nature.

And how does one access the field? Its not that clear how to get there via googlemaps. I am sure there will still be people who show up to the firezone field (and I was so excited to use that new bunker we built out there!)...might even lose a few people since its a much further drive down to Davenport.

Even though it's more than an hour away from some of us I think I still would have enjoyed the larger field.

This is a better address to use. It puts you on the road which you follow south into the large "parking area"

I saw that. The idea of centralized parking is more pleasing to me, as I'm still a bit concerned about security.

Don't know about Davenport, but the Dr. Philips field (the original field) is a pretty safe location.

According to his post on FA, we are back on at the original field. I'm sure Shar will chime in here soon.

We just came back from there. OK.
The field is not as accesible as we were told.

There is no safe parking like we understood was available.

To get to the field is difficult, overgrown and severely swampy.

We have to make the original field work. I have to confirm it completely with Shar, but I believe we will still jump the curb on the Apopka-Vineland side and ride in. The road from the school is the one thats blocked. OR as a last resort we can get in from the Fenton Rd entrance through some sand. My blazer made it through (barely) so probably only bigger trucks need to go that route, and caravaning from Shars with these bigger trucks is a good plan.

Is it possible to park at the school and walk in? (Its a sunday) Or is that not a wise decision?
